The directors and management of the Intercontinental Youth Symphony Orchestra and Chorus are pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for membership of both the orchestra and chorus.

 

The orchestra?s Resident Conductor is Maestro Evgeny Khokhlov who is assistant conductor of the National State Philharmonic Orchestra of Belarus and is conductor of the St. Petersburg Chamber Opera.

Founding Guest Conductor is Maestro Dr. Alexander Anissimov, Principal Condutor of the National Symphony Orchestra of Belarus, Principal Conductor of Opera Rostov-on-Don, and Principal Conductor of the Busan Philharmonic Orchestra in Korea. Director of the Chorus is Prof. Jennifer Kelly, who is Assistant Professor and Director of Choral Activities, at Lafayette College, Easton, Pennsylvania in the United States.

Instrumentalists should be aged between 15 and 24 years and choral singers should be between 10 and 60 years. The minimum standard for instrumentalists is the equivalent of a UK Grade 8 (Grade 6 for harp).
Choral singers must already be members of a church, college, or university choir.

The European tour for the orchestra includes Moscow (7th August), Minsk, Warsaw, Prague, Nuremberg, Paris, Milan, Zagreb, Budapest, Belgrade, and Sofia (28th August). The chorus will perform in Moscow on 4th August 2010.

During the month of September 2009, accelerated entry to the orchestra and chorus is available provided that instrumentalists verify their musical standard within 72 hours of their application.
